The National Inline Hockey Association – Canada has announced that Team Canada
will participate in the 2008 IIHF In-Line Hockey World Championship after a
10-year hiatus from the event. The tournament will take place in Bratislava,
Slovakia, from June 21-29. The last time Canada participated (in 1998), they
beat the U.S. for the gold medal.
The team (open to Canadian citizens born in 1990 and before) will be put
together during the following Team Canada Men's Program Identification
Camps:
May 9-10, 2008 Oakville Arena – Oakville, Ontario
May 10-11, 2008 St. Adolphe Arena – St. Adolphe, Manitoba
June 6-7, 2008 Langley Sportsplex – Langley, British Columbia
June 7-8, 2008 Millennium Place – Sherwood Park, Alberta
"The coaching staff will be looking for players who have the ability and
the determination it takes to play at the highest level," said Team Canada Head
Coach Gerry St. Cyr. "Team Canada will be taking a new approach to scouting the
team for 2008, with several veterans retiring from the game, there will be a lot
of opportunity for younger players to get involved this year."

All players must register prior to the Identification Camp.
